Show THE SERENADE AT THE LYRIC : TUES. MAY 15 'J. 'J ' rr "Tho Serenade," a ctfmlc opera In three acts written by Harry B. Smith, with music by Victor Herbert, is to bo the attraction at tho Lyric, Tuesday, Tues-day, May 16. It will bo presented under the management of Messrs. Walker and Stevens, who so successfully success-fully exploited Reginald do Koven's "Robin Hood" last season on tour. In composing tho music for "The Serenade," It Is claimed by many of tho admirers of America's greatest composer that Victor Herbert accomplished accom-plished his masterploco. "Tho Serenade" Ser-enade" will be sung by practically the same cast which was heard. In "Robin Hood" and In fact that charming opera Is still retained In tho ropertolro ot tho organization, and Is to be sung at special performances. perform-ances. "Tho Serenado" Is admirably suited to the capabilities ot tho Walker and Stevens company, and thoso who have heard them before will havo no doubt that "The Serenade" Seren-ade" will bo splendidly acted and admirably sung. Among tho members mem-bers of tho company are Jamos Stov-ons, Stov-ons, Ivy Scott, Cora Tracy, Herbert Waterous, Ralph Bralnard, Phil Branson, David Andrada, Edward Andrews and Tllllo Salinger. There will be an attractive chorus and an amplified orchestra. |
