Show FLY SWATTING GOES MERRILY ON ATTRENTON Trenton, April 1G. Spring at lastl The citizens of our town aro busily engaged cleaning their yards and planting their gardens. They have all decided to try and beautify the town, and for that reason aro planting plant-ing flowers and putting to use ovory foot of land available. Tho grammar grades of our school have prepared an operetta which they Intend presenting to tho public on Friday night, April 20. Thoy have been working hard and aro prepared to glvo something worth while. Mr. and Mrs. F. L. Allen wero in Covo, Wednesday night, having gone thero to attend tho farewell party given In honor of tho solScr boys and to say farewell to their brother, Orlando, Or-lando, who has joined tho national guard. A fly killing contest has been going go-ing on for tho past few days between the sixth and fifth grades. The last count showed a total of 5065 flics, with an averago of 211 per pupil. The children aro very Interested in the contest and are adding many files to the list every day. Mr. A. E. Darley wa3 in Logan Saturday and Sunday, having gone there to attend tho meeting of the principals which was held on Saturday. Satur-day. Tho Messrs Theo and Harley Bradbury Brad-bury of Cove wore Trenton visitors on Saturday. School has been closed for tho past week In the third and fourth grades to prevent tho spread of Scarlatina. |
