Only two Important amendments remain for disposition, the wheat minimum price fixing proposals and Senator Pomer-eno's Pomer-eno's amendment authorizing tho trade commission to fix coal prices and take over coal mines. The Senate today approved the leaders' compromise amendment limiting lim-iting authority for government purchase pur-chase and sale, of commodities to fuel, wheat, flour, meat, beans and potatoes. The compromise licensing section also was adopted. It provides for licensing In Interstate of foreign commerce wheat elevators, cold storage stor-age and packing houses, farm machinery ma-chinery factories, coal mines and dealers, fertilizer producers and wholesalers of tho necessaries named. The Senato rejected, CI to 24, an amendment to extend tho licensing provisions to Interstate commerce. tm |
