A H clever one-act play was presented I under tho direction of Miss Eliza-I Eliza-I bcth Underwood, entlteled "A Welch Honeymoon," by Geanctto Marks. After tho play, card playing and I dancing wero Indulged In. About I fifty guests were present. Itefrosh- ment were ser.ved. ... A shower was given Miss Edith Hill, a Juno bride, Wednesday evening even-ing by Miss Hllma Johnson at the Johnson home. Miss Hill was presented pre-sented with a cushion with all the Initials of tho girls who gavo tho shower. They also gave her a book of receipts. A dainty lunch was served. The Ladles Aid of tho Methodist .. church gave a farowell party, Thurs- J day afternoon, for Mrs. O. M. Grimes, "r who has resided In Logan for two years, but will return to her former home In Salt Lake next week. Mra. Grimes was presented with a gift. Miss Lucy Thompson entertained tho lady employes of the Bluebird Tuesday evening at the homo of Mr. and Mrs. A. Gordon with a character dancing party. Card games wero also played, with Miss Lucy Burr being be-ing tho prize winner. Music was n Bpeclal feature of tho evening. Lunch was served. 4 ' Mrs. A. H. Thompson entertained tho Brldgo club Thursday afternoon. Brldgo was played from two small tables with refreshments following. Mrs. W. C. Secrlst entertained with a birthday party, Wednesday afternoon, after-noon, in honor of, her little daughter, Martha's, birthday. Y. college will be guestB of the faculty members at the Forth (year play, followed fol-lowed by a dancing party In tho gym, on Saturday evening. Mrs. C. C. Majors entertained th1 Epthworth league -with a social evening even-ing in the rooms of the Methodist church on Friday evening. Tho Eighth grade graduating class of tho Lowell school gave a dance In-the Smart gymnasium on Wednesday Wednes-day evening. Friends of the graduates gradu-ates were Invited, and a largo crowd was present. Tho graduating exercises of tho' training school of the TJrlgham Young college were held In the Nlbloy hall Thursday afternoon. After tho pro-Ti pro-Ti gram for the class, a special demon-fcrf demon-fcrf stratlon and various exercises wore held on the campus, given by tho second, fourth, and sixth grades of the training school. . A pleasant surprise was given Miss Itosolla Jacobsen Wednesday afternoon after-noon when about twenty of hor llttlo school frlonds met at her homo. They bad a splendid time plnylng games and feasting. Mrs. A. P. Cardon and children returned tho first part of tho weok from Washington, D. C, where they have been tho guests of Senator and Mrs. Smoot. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. H. Goodsell announce an-nounce the engagement of their daughter, Vera, to Jay M. Samson of Idaho Falls.
