Show MANY SUSPECTS FACE PRISON AS AUSTRIAN SPIES Washlngtqn, Dec. 12. Scores of Austria Hungarian subjects suspected suspect-ed of being enemy agents in this country will be arrested after a declaration de-claration of war against Austria. Many of these men have been under surveillance by department of justice jus-tice agents for months, but have not been taken into custody because of the lack ot definite evidence against them. When Congress adopted President Wilson's recommendation that a state of war against Austria Hungary be declared, unnaturalized subjects o't tho dual monarchy automatically will become enemy aliens and be subject to summary arrest and internment. For several months government agents have been gathering Information Informa-tion on the hostile activities 'of Aus-trlans Aus-trlans who were not subject to the restrictions imposed on unnaturalized unnaturaliz-ed Germans by the state of war with Germany, and thoso caught In Illegal Illeg-al acts wero arrested and tried under un-der tho usual criminal statutes. |
