This Is the company a renewal of whoso license wnB ro fused Inst February by former Commissioner Com-missioner Willard Done on tho ground of alleged discrepancies in its annual statement. In announcing the granting of n now llcenso to operate In Utah, Mr. James stated this morning that ho Is convinced that thero Is no question ques-tion as to the soundness of the Dnan-, clal standing of tho Seattle Insurance corporation. He says that an examination exam-ination of the company's records and statements has shown him that oven were the supposed discrepancies more than clerical errors, ns the company officers maintain, that the company Is a sound ono. Last February the llcenso of the company to operate in Utuh expired and the officers applied to Willard Dono, thon state Insurance commissioner, commis-sioner, for renowal. Believing that the affairs of the company Were not all that could bo desired, Mr. Dono rofused to renow tho llcenso, until an Investigation could bo tnado. Several conferences of tho company In tho olllco of Governor William Spry. Governor Spry finally gave Dono authority to decldo tho matter, and nt tho timo of tho lattor's resignation, resigna-tion, thequest lon remained uusottlod Ho passed it along to his successor, Mr. James.
