According to a statement mado by William Mc-Adoo, Mc-Adoo, secretary of the treasury, Senator Sen-ator Ileed Smoot today, tho internal revenue olllce at Salt Lake will Bhort ly bo transferred to Helena, Montana the homo of W. C. Whaley, the present pres-ent collector. Mr. McAdoo assured Senator Smoot Bhortly after tho appointment ap-pointment of Mr. WhHloy that no political considerations' would in! dype, him to transfer the ofneo and when4 .this assuranco was called to his 'attention today he denied that po-lltldat po-lltldat consideration were in any way responglble for the transfer, , He gave as his reason tho fact that Internal revenue collections are greater In Montana than in Idaho and Utah, and said that his future policy will bo to locate the offices In tho home town of .the. collectors.
