Show CARMAN JURY TO COMPLETE WORK Verdict Expected Tomorrow. Niece of Physician's Wife Called As a Witness Mlneo'a. July 1G. A grand Jury from which ,two members withdrew because of friendship for tho Carman family resumed today Its deliberation in the case of Mrs. Florence Carman Carm-an held In Jail as having fired the shot which kitted Mrs. Louise Bailey In Dr. Carman's office la Freeport on the night of June 30. It was expected ex-pected that the Jury would complete its work today and that a verdict would be reached tomorrow. At the hearing the district attorney announced that ho 'had a subpoenae for Miss Ellen. Corby, & niece of Mrs. Carman. It is understood that sho Is ono of the two women who have been sought slnco the murder, who wero In the waiting room and fled when they heard tho shot fired. Tho first witness examined today was Henry Do Beau, who testified to seeing Mrs. Bailey going to tho Car man homo. Another witness wtis Miss Helen Combs who was In the waiting room when tho murder was committed. It was thought likely that Mrs Carman Car-man would not bo cnllod boforo the Jur) Her counsel had agreed to waho Immunity for her, but In tho opinion of the district attorney It Is Inexpedient to have her testify. Tramp Tells Story Dr. Carman mndo public today a letter nddressed to his wlfo from Rochester, N. Y. Tho writer said ho had shot Mrs. Bailey. Ho had donned" n woman's clothing, ho said as h disguise. Tho letter was written writ-ten In what appeared to bo disguised handwriting and looked ns If It may have beon penned by n woman. It was not taken seriously. Tho last witness boforo tho Jury whs Trank J. Fnrroll, a tramp who went to tho back door of the Carmon house on tho night of Juno 30 to nBk for food.
