Show Slate Committee on1 Education Saturday, March IS, a meeting or all county supetlntcndonts of public schools throughout the Btatc was held at tho office ot the stato suporlnton-dont suporlnton-dont of public Instruction, Dr. 13. 0. Gowafts, at which meeting It was decided de-cided to adopt a uniform course of Instruction throughout all the schools ot tho stato on Thrift and Savings, and to organize In each class room In every school, both prlvnto and parochial paro-chial throughout tlio stato, a War Savings society, with tho teacher In each room an authorized selling ag-out ag-out ot tho Treasury department to soil stamps to pupils therein. This meeting appointed tho following follow-ing state education committee on War Savings: Dr. K. K. Grlckson, Dr. E. O. Gow-ans, Gow-ans, Dr George It Hill, State Agricultural Agricul-tural College Logan, Utah Mr. L. John Nuttall, Jr., County Superintendent ot Iron County. Mr. D C. Jonson, Superintendent, Jordon district schools Dr. E. A. Smith, Superintendent of City Schools, Captain Honry D, Moylo. On Thursday, March 20, this com-mltteo com-mltteo met at tho War Savings headquarters head-quarters and nppolntod Assistant State Director. Captain Honry D. Moylc, chairman, and decided to give two periods n week for tho remainder remaind-er of tho present year and throo periods per-iods n weok for tb next school year starting in the fall, to a courio of Instruction In-struction In thrift. Dr. E. E. Erlckson of tho University Univer-sity ot Utah was delegated to prepare detailed uniform outlines of instruction instruc-tion tor tho sonlor high schools. County Supt. 1. John Nuttall Jr., of Iron county for the Junior high, schools; Supt. D. C. Jcnspn of Jordan district for tho intermediate grades, and Dp. E. A. Smith, Supt. of Salt Lake City schools for the primary grades. |
