Show FISH & GAME GOM- MITTEE HOLD MEETING On Sunday the local Fish and Game committee of tbet Commercial club received 16,000 tingerllngs from the state fish hatchery and they were placed In the upper system sys-tem of fish ponds in Logan canyon. There was not one dead in 'the entire en-tire lot and they were as lively as could be and took to the feed provided provid-ed for them. These fish range from two and ono halt to four inches in length and one year from now thoy will bo largo enough for catching. Just when they will bo turned in tho rivers has not been determined. At present there are nearly 50,000 fry and flngerlings In" tho upper system sys-tem of ponds and according to the amount of feed eaten, the fish are' doing well. Both systems are completed com-pleted and tho commltteo nro Just watting for tho largo shipment of flngorllngs from tho government hatchery. Those will he placed In tho lower system and kept for breeding. Mr. Joseph Smith ot the stato fish hatchery and a car furnished by Mr. II. P Gontor, a member of tho local committee, brought tho fish yesterday. Tho commltteo and sportsmon who assisted, look with much pride on tholr work In tho canyon can-yon and they expect good results and much better fishing In tho future. Last night tho commltteo wore with tho forest dopartment representatives with tho vlow of bettering tho fish conditions in tho forest reserve. |
