Show CITY TO PLANT TREES FOR FALLEN FAL-LEN JtEROES Today, Labor Day, tho City Commissioners Com-missioners will plant a tree for each fallen hero ot Logan City. Tho trees Will bo planted at the City cemetery, near the northwest corner, In a plot of ground laid oft and Bet apart by tho commissioners for this purpose. The planting will occur at 5 o'clock p m. This Is a nation wido movement, ono adopted for tho recognition ot tho valient servlco ot tho men who gave their lives for their country. Counties, cities, towns, clubs and other oth-er organizations throughout tho country havo adopted this mothod ot erecting a living monument tor their heroes. Tho details of tho plan wero work-od work-od out by the Civic Improvement cotnmltteo ot tho Commercial Boosters Boost-ers club, and when- the plan wns presented pre-sented to tho City' Commissioners it found them hartlly In favor of tho movement and ready and willing- to act thereon1. ' At tho lust session oi tne state' legislature leg-islature tho "Colorado Blue Spruce! was designated by law to bo the state tree. This' is the tree' that will be planted, hey havo been, secured from Joseph A Smith ot Providence. Tho tree is a Voautlful' ono as 13 shown by tho cluster ot -then between be-tween the Experiment Station .and tho entrance to tho main building at tho Utah Agrlculturar-nCHeo7- A short program will be given at .the time appointed ,and the public is invited to bo present, at D o'clock p. m. today at the city cemetery. |
