Show ' RADICAL STRIKES FAIL Radical labor leaders have caused tremendous tre-mendous loss to miners of western states in the past two years. The last big strikes to fail were those in the Coeur d' Alone and Butte districts. In both cases the miners lost months of pay by striking to enforce unjust demands of ' the radical element. The strikes were doomed tp failure from the start as any thinking man could see, but the rank and file f honest level, headed workmen had to suf fer on account of radical leadership. How long will the rank and file - stand these losses due to such dictation? " Employers and mine operators have reached the breaking point; industry can stand no more in the way of increased -cost of operation. Tn the case of the mine operators, as fast as they have met one demand, other concessions were immediately immedi-ately asked, of a nature which could not be granted. Radical leadership is rapidlly alienating alienat-ing public sympathy in regard to strike and it is now being generally recognized throughout the country, that the persons who arc responsible for the payrolls, the freight bills, the taxes and the material coats, and who have met these demands year iif, aid year out, should have a voice in judging the limitations of their proper-tics. proper-tics. The Utah Copper company has taken a big step toward eliminating the professional profes-sional agitator and the demoralizing strike, by establishing a council of employes em-ployes chosen semi annually by ballot, to confer with company officials on questions ques-tions arising and thus by voluntary mediation med-iation settle difficulties.
