Show CATTLEMEN MEET AT COMMERCIAL CUJB A very profitable and enthusiastic I mooting of the prominent cattlemen and business men of tlio valley and representatives of the Intorstato Llvo Stock commission men from Omaha and Chicago was held at the- Com- morclal club on Monday evening. I Prominent dairymen and cattlemen from Preston, Dayton, Weston, Rlch- mond, Lewlston, SmlUifteld and from nearly every town In tho valley wore I preset. Mj Mayor Roy Dullon welcomed tho m( visitors and presided at tho meeting. Frot John T. Calne HI, tho first speaker said It was a good thing to meet tho commlsalonmen and get bot- ter acquainted with thorn . He made a strong plea for the livestock com- J mission men as ha knew no better H tr JB ,jt way for the livestock producers to r market their products than through Jr i the commission men. They are ab- solutcly .necessary to market tho live stock. Prof. Calne gave some lnter- estlng statistics as to tho number of live 'stock In tho country. Mr. Joseph Ennerson ot tho Stock Yard Dank ot South Omaha and Mr. Alvln Johnson of tho Livestock National Na-tional Rank of South Omaha were pleased to meet tlio stockmen of the county. They stated that 95 per cent of their loans wero based on livestock live-stock and they nlways figured they wero safe. During the meeting that wonderful Gleo club of the U. A. C. under tlio able direction of Prof. C. It Johnson came and rendered u number of beautiful beau-tiful selections for tho visitors. This feature was much appreciated. The Commercial club quartet, consisting ot James McMurrln, Karl Farns- worth, Arthur O. Peterson and Arthur Arth-ur Olson rendered two flno selections, v After tho meeting an Informal reception re-ception took placo and refreshments weio served. Tho visitors thoroughly enjoyed themselves and said they would nover forgot their reception In Cacho Valloy. Tho guests woro met at Dayton and brought to Logan where they woro Ht'O'cd a banquet undor tho auspices of tho local cattlemen. They wero driven around tho city nnd up tho canyon and thoy woro much Impressed Impress-ed with tho town and surroundings.
