Show Senator Johnson Squirms The Peace delegates named by President Wilson are not at all satisfactory to Senator Hiram W. Johnson of California: Senator Johnson expressed himself as follows: 'There is no God but God, and Mahomet is his prophet. . 'To selecting himself as head of the five American Amer-ican delegates to the peace conference, President Wilson .has named himselffive times. We cannot tort admire the .courage of the president in saying to a hundred and five millions of "our. people, T am the onlyAmerican fit to sit at the peace table.' We surmise that the Senator's friend. Colonel Roosevelt, Roose-velt, too, will riot think the delegates collection of 'heavy weights, and at that .there is a great dealof truth in Seni' ator Johnson's statement, likewise Colonel" Roosevelt's thoughts. But after all why should not these two worth-' ies Senator, Johnson and Colonel Roosevelt feel sore' and disappointed. They are the best; friends President Wilson ever had. They made his President, and havirig been instrumental in handing the American people something .they cannot approve themselves, they ought to feel sore and disappointed., ; " ' ' j . .'" |
