Chambers To Lecture at War Council With the campaign for the Third Liberty Loan over, the Utah State J Council of Defense, at the Instance' of the Council of National Defense, I has completed plans for a series of war councils, or conferences, to be In this state. The, first of these as-! seniblles will be held Friday and Sat-' urday of this week. The Friday sessions ses-sions will be during the evening at Salt Lake City and Ogdea, while the Saturday assemblies will be conducted conduct-ed afternoon and evening at Provo and Logan. For these affairs the Council of National Defense has provided speakers speak-ers of nation wide repute, men of profound knowledge on the subjects they have been chosen to present, and well equipped oratorlcally to present thorn. George n. Chandler, of Connecticut, Connecti-cut, special representative of tho Council of National Defense; and J. A. n. Scherer, head of the Instltuto of Tchnology, Pasadona, California, and traveling representative of tho Council of National Defense nnd the Shipping Hoard, will speak at both Ogden and Logan, while Lieut. Paul Perlgord, of tho French Army, and Guy Stanton Ford, Dean of the Graduate School of the University of Minnesota, aro scheduled for the Provo and Salt Lake gatherings. In all of theso messages he has urged the driving home of the fact that the United State Is not in the war for conquest or dominion, but for fair and open dealing among the peoples of the earth. The conferences aro designed to provide an opportunity for active, war workers to meet for an exchange of views and opinions and to co-or-dlnato plans of operation.
