At the present time Wm. Evans is harvesting his Ice at his ponds north of Oregon Short Lino depot nnd at that place he has two largo ponds, each covering about nn acre of space. These ponds aro covered with Ice nbout a foot thick and of the purest and clearest quality. It Is made from the water drawn from the Logan City water system. About 2fi0 tons are being harvested dally and this year's crop put nway In tho two storago houses will bo upwards (if 2000 tons. It is quite, a sight to watch the processi of cutting the Ico Into cakes 20 inches in width and 30 Indies in length. Theso large cakes of Ice perform a wonderful work during the warm season of the year, when It Is distributed through tho city, going Into tho homes to cool water and foods.
