Show A Tribute to the Old Folks By H. W. Hancey I'm asked to give a word of welcome And also a tribute pay, To our dear fathers and mothers, Who havo gathered hero today. 'Tls a task I meet with pleasuro, For I lovo to sing tho pralso Of these noblo sons and daughters, Pioneers of latter days. You who havo so vallently Fought tho battles of Hfo; And havo cro proved truo and faithful faith-ful , 'qj When tho powers of sin woro rlfo. You havo tolled from morn till ovo- nlng, And havo never ceased to Hght; Hut havo labored uncomplaining, For honor, vlrtuo nnd right. You havo mado tho desert blossom By your earnest, faithful, toll; Tho curso of God on Eden placed Is vanishing from tho soil. Wo, now basking In tho Bunllght, Of tho blessings you havo won, Gladly meet to show you honor, For tho noblo work you'vo dono. Let mo paint another wolcomo, Ono the Father hath in storo, When wo'vo reached tho golden river And this mortal Hfo Is o'or. Yes, a glorious blessed wolcomo, Is awaiting you and mo, Twill bo given by tho Father, If wo'u only faithful bo. Wo will hear that blessed plaudit "Well dono, thou faithful ones." Many things you shall rulo ovor." For tho noblo work you'vo dono. You shall dwell with rao In glory On tho earth a thousand years; "When satan'8 power is vanished, And there's no moro sighs nor tears. Tho glories of that blessed abodo Wherein tho righteous dwell; Eye hath not seen, ear bath not heard No human tonguo enn tell. There on glorious worlds Celestial, With your children and your wives; All redeemed and made immortal, You shall enjoy eternal lives. Thero blessings honor nnd glory, Shall unto you be given; Pass by the angels and becomo Like as tho Gods In Heaven.
