Show National Forests Take in $2,500,000.00 - Timber Sale, Grazing, and Other Receipts Re-ceipts for Fiscal Year Show Gain of More Than Forty Thousand Dollars Washington, Aug. G. Tho National Nation-al Forests turned Into tho U S. Treasury during tho fiscal year ended end-ed June 30, 1015, nearly J2.COO.000, an Increase of more than 140,000 over tho receipts of tho previous year, according ac-cording to a statement Just Issued by tho Forest Service. Tho timber sales, which amounted to $1,104,000, yielded on account ot tho depressed condition of tho lumber Industry about $70,000 less than thoso ot tho previous flscnl year, but tho gain i was made posslblo by lnrger rovenucs 'from other sources. Tho grazing ro-ccipts, ro-ccipts, which totaled $1,125,000, Increased In-creased $127,000 over last year and tho water power receipts, wheh amounted to not quito $00,000 show-cd show-cd an Incroase of nearly $42,000. Tho demoralization of tho turpentine turpen-tine Industry on nccount of the war's curtailment of tho naval stores mar- kct caused tho receipts from tho salo of turpentining privileges on tho National Na-tional Forests, to drop to about $9,-000 $9,-000 as against nearly $15,000 last year. Tho oalo ot special uso permits, per-mits, under which all sorts of enterprises, enter-prises, from np arlcs to whaling stations, sta-tions, nro oporated on the Forests, yielded nearly $78,000, an increase of $9,000 over last year. There was a decreaso of nearly $37,000 In tho rovenuo derived by tho settlement of trspass cases in which government timber had been cut without Intent to defraud, tho rovenuo from this source bolng only n little moro than $3,000. Moro than $7,000, howovcr, was collected from other timber trespass tres-pass cases.
