W. MoIIcnry ot Murray who for months past havo been centering their endeavors en-deavors on obtaining a sugar fattory for this county. Tho proposition which the commltteo commlt-teo brought to tho attention ot the Utah Idaho Sugar company, especially especial-ly tho number ot acres ot beets guaranteed, guar-anteed, and tho proposed slto for tho factory, was such that It met with tho endorsement ot tho company's officials, of-ficials, who today took the first stops toward closing tho transaction. This waa tho purchasing ot tho Hugh J. Cannon farm, a well known traot ot land 29 4-10 acres in extent In West Jordan, for which tho sum ot $3,400 wns paid. Tho deal Includes tho lcaso of threo ajros of land for cat-tlo cat-tlo feeding purposos, ndjolnlng tho factory slto on tho east and running up to tho Redwood road. Tho land in question Is located closo to tho Intersection of tho Orcm lino nnd D. & R. Q, branch to Bingham, Bing-ham, about threo quarters of a mllo south of tho West Jordan buslnoss district and closo to the South Jordan Jor-dan canal. Tho deed from Air. Cannon Can-non to tho Sugar company will bo recorded today. Needless to say tho Salt Lako county promoters who havo worked so hard on tho project nro feollng Jubilant over tho result ot tholr labors. Mnnngor T. R. Cutler of tho Utah Idaho Sugar Company said today, It was tho Intention to put In a sugar factory on tho slto acquired In tlmo to work up tho crop of 1910. Ho said tho 5,000 acres of beets guaranteed by tho farmers of this tounty, 2,000 of which woro to ho dollvcrpd by team and 3,000 by rail, with tho noc-ossary noc-ossary water rights, otc, fully Justified Justi-fied tho sugar company in putting In tho plant. Mr. Cutlor stated that tho removal ot tho Nampa plant to Spanish Fork, would also go forward in tlmo to allow al-low operations on nest year's crop, and tho company expected to do sorao work on tho foundations this year.
