Dr. Davis comes especially well recommended. Ho was graduated from high school at Burnlps, Mich., In 1004. Ho entered the Michigan Stato Normal College In the fall of 1005, from which ho recolved a life cortlflcato In 1908, tho degree of bachelor of podagoglcs In 1909, and tho degreo of bachelor of arts in 1912. During tho years 1907 to 1912 ho was instructor In chemistry at that school. Since the summer of 1912, ho has been doing graduato work at Colombia Colom-bia University. Thero ho took his degreo of muster of arts in 1913, held tho Goldschmldt Fellowship In chemistry during tho yoar 1913-1914 and was grantod tho degreo of doctor doc-tor of, philosophy in 1915. As n partial par-tial fulfillment of tho requirements for his doctors degreo ho submitted a dissertation on Tho Surfaco Tension Ten-sion of Sulhpurlc Acid wntor mixtures, mix-tures, which received widespread recognition and has since been published pub-lished In circular form. Dr. C. W. Porter, Dr. C. B. Da-vis, Da-vis, and Asat. Prof. Hirst, aided by sovoral assistants mid, tho added facilities fa-cilities of tho now chemistry building which is fast being completed and oqulpped with tho most modern apparatus ap-paratus and conveniences, gives to' tho department exceptional power aim opportunity for Incroasod service to tho many students who como to tho Agricultural College for Instruction. |
