' .Vi , j &Tho Aggies have cbmm'cncbd spring 'football work and a squad of 2(i men Is engaged In preliminary work, such na catehing punts, falling' on the - ball etc. Arch Egbert, tho once famous fa-mous Aggie quarterback, has chargo of tho men and he and Coach Teetzel nre planning to give tho, men all tho work they can stand, this spring. None of the members of last, year's team Is out with his squad, It being composed entirely of now material. Some of It looks promising. Several other men havo asked for suits and by tho end of noxt week Teetzel expects ex-pects at least forty men to bo engaged engag-ed in football work. It is the best showing In spring football that has ever been made at tho collogo and the football fans are feeling pretty good over it. Tho baseball squad Is as largo as ever and tho enthusiasm seems to bo just as strong. Tho first game of the season will bo played this evening with tho Hyrum team. The work of tho men Is resulting in a sifting and Coach Teetzel and his assistant Mr. Cannon Lund are getting a good 'line on tho men. The two catchers appear ap-pear to bo Greener ond Owen, both of whom havo been doing good work. Captain Ilowo Is at his old position at third base, and is as sure as ever. Holmstead seems to have tho first base position nailed and Johnson Is I showing up exceptionally well at short stop. Pearl Jones Is at second. sec-ond. Mlteholl and Perkins are tho twirlers. Twltchell went Into tho pitching division but Teetzel was short of track and field men and he C Induced Twltchell to forsake baseball 31 and onter in tho weights' dlvislpn- of tho state .meet. Ho putaltho'1 shot' and "also throws the, harairfor well. Taylor, Tanner and Stott handle tfie outfield positions so well that- it Is thought thoy will be on tho team as regulars. Tennis has boon taken hold of this week and arrangements aro being made to havo tho collego well represented repre-sented in this division of sport. In order, to bo able to select a team to I represent tho college, a, tournament lias been arranged for. Entries for tho tournament must bo mado on or before tho 15th of Aprll, and, tho tournament vlll come off on tho 17th .'and 18th.
