Directors of the Utah Cereal Food Company awarded tho contract for eonstructlng tho superstructure su-perstructure of tho plant at Twenty-ninth Twenty-ninth street nnd Wall ovenuo to Louis N. Meld of Ogden, who agrees to complete tho building In ninety dnys. Tho oxact amount of tho contract con-tract price wns not disclosed, but Lon J. Haddock, secretary of the company said Uio superstructure would cost about $55,000. Tho company com-pany will furnlBh tho brick and lumber lum-ber to tho contraetor. According to Mr. Haddock, tho plant completed and Installed with machinery will hnvo cost $120,000. Tho concrete foundation and elevators elevat-ors havo been constructed. There remains to build fovr stories on top of this foundation And Install tho machinery, which will bo ordered early In tho spring. Tho superstructure will bo 135 feet long by 61 feet wide nnd will bo of brick and stone, tho slow burning typo of construction to bo followed. Proscnt plans provldo for the opening open-ing of tho plant for operation July 1 with a force of 100, Insludlng seventy sev-enty men and thirty women, all of whom, tho secretary sayls, will bo employed In Ogden or Utah. In addition to tho manufacture of coreal products, tho company will manufacturo a stock food, utilizing tho hulls of tho cereals, chopped alfalfa al-falfa and boot sugar molasses obtained ob-tained from tho Ogden factory of tho Amalgamated Sugar Company.
