Wldtsoe in a lecture before the Housckeepea s' Conference nt the U A. C. Summer school last Wednesday. Wednes-day. It was furthor stated that one third of this distance was Biifflclcnt to accomplish the same results In a properly pro-perly arranged and cared for kitchen kitch-en Economy In space was dwelt upon as being of paramount Importance In kitchen management. There should be careful regulation of sink space, tables, ta-bles, stove and cupboards. Ventilation was Insisted upon as being necessary In order to make the kitchen a desirable desir-able place In which to work. To aid ventilation it was recommended that In houve construction tho kitchen have no room directly above It. This arrangement ar-rangement would make ventilation easy and also make It possible to provide pro-vide a bkyllght In the celling In order to flood tho kitchen with light Paint, Instead of oilcloth or calcimine, calci-mine, was recommended as bolng tho most deslrablo finish for the Interior, while the woodwork should be plain and free from nil decoration |
