Show Hyde Park Items Hyde Park, June 21. Mrs. Ann Ktr-by, Ktr-by, wife of the late Thomas W. Kir-by, Kir-by, passed to tho great beyond Monday Mon-day morning, June 19th. The funeral services were held in tho hall today at 2 p. ra. The speakers were Suel Lamb. Phillip Purser, Martin C. Reeder, J. W. D. Hurrcn and Bishop Charles O. Hyde. Tho opening and closing prayers wero offered by Geo. F. Ashcrott and Counselor Loreno Peterson. The musical numbers were, "When First the Glorious Light of Truth." "School thy Feelings," and "Mid Scenes of Confusion," "Sometime "Some-time we'll understand," was sung by Elder Arthur Petersen. Tho speakers paid glowing tributes to the worth of the deceased and ot the noble, unsel fish life she had lived. Mrs. Kirby was born in London, England, Doc. 24, 1833, and was therefore In her seventy-eighth year. She embraced the gospel while a young woman, and ha3 teen a faithful Latter-day Saint. She came to Hyde Park with her husband In the eaily CO's and lias resided here ever since. Wo remember her teach-lug teach-lug the first school we over attend ed. Out of several children born to I her, only two, one !ou and one daugh ter survive her. They are Georg S. and Mrs. Sarah Purser. The heavy rain of Tuesday evening was of great benefit to the beets and other crops, but damaged considerable hay. Samuel and Harvey Chrlstenson left for California yesterday. They will Epcnd a few months In school. |
