Show IMPRESSIVE SERVICES FOR MRS. MARY ANN WHITTLE Richmond, June 7. ImprosBtve services ser-vices over tho remains of Mrs. Maiy Ann Whltlo were held at the Richmond Rich-mond tabornaclo today at 2 p. m. 'f ho remains wero viewed at tho-residence of Mr. O. D. Merrll until ono o'clock when tho march to tho tabernacle began. be-gan. Tho children of tha deceased were all present and many of tho Harris family were in attendance. Tho casket was covered wltln flowers, tho service slmplo and impressive, many testimonies to the gentle, womanly, wo-manly, charitable, patient,, subllmo character of the departed being borno. Tho choir sang "Fnrowoll all Earthly Earth-ly Houors" and Elder J. W. Funk of-fered of-fered prayer. Tho speakers wero Wallace K. Hurnham, William L. Skldmore, Joseph Jo-seph S. Wells of tho Presidency . of Ensign Stake, Herschol Bullen, O. D. Merrill and President Lewis S. Pond of Bannock Stake, ' Mrs. Whltle, as was stated In our last Issue wns 72 years, old laBt April. She camo to tho Salt Lake Valley in 1848 with hor parents McGco' and Mnry Harris, the Harris family having hav-ing Joined the church at tho time of tho Nauvo persecutions. McGeo Harris Har-ris with his wife, three sons and two daughters, constituted the family. In 18GG Mrs, Whlttlo was married to John Casper Whittle, who was a prominent prom-inent flghro in Richmond for many years having held many offices of trust'nnd responsibility. Fifteen years ago Mr. Whittle died leaving k wife an invalid, and during all thoso long, weary years, she has lived libSe'cluB-, libSe'cluB-, Ion being cared for most o( the time by her daughter Mrs. O. D. Morrill. Throughout It all she manifested n spirit so divinely womanly, so patient nnd enduring, ns to command tho sympathy, respect, and admiration of all who know her. To know her wns to lovo her. Indeed sho seemed to ho bo good, so pure, so morally strong, that in spite of physical weakness death could not claim hor until sho had completely wasted away. All hor children wero at tho bedside when sho passed away. Tho casket was covered cov-ered with an embankment of flowers and a largo cortege followed tho rb-mains rb-mains to tho cemetery where they were interred.
