Samuel Klrkpatrlck, who with Hen-ry Hen-ry I'. Mewhlnney Is alleged to havo attempted to rob Saul S. Hrovvn, a traveling salesman, In tho llumona rooming house, 1C3 South Second Kast stieet, last Friday afternoon, and as a lesult of which C. L. Erlckson, an assayer, wiib shot and killed by one of the holdup men as he was going to the aid of Hrown, has made a complete confession of his alleged part In tho crime. He confesses that he nnd Mewhlnney are icsponslble for the murder and describes each scene of the tragedy In detail. Mewhlnney did the shooting, accoidlng to the statement state-ment of Klikpatrlck. The confession wns made to S. M. Harlow, chief or police, and witnessed by Captain of Detectives Heckstead and Detective Cleveland. At 4 o'clock Sunday nfternocn K.rU patiick sent for Chief Hallow. When the chief arilved with two members of his department, Klikpatilck was In tenia. He had decided upon making a statement and his rirst words weie, j "You've got the light men. I went theio with the Intention of robbing that man, but I didn't think Mewhlnney Mewhln-ney would kill anybody."
