Tho bodies of tho Indians wero burled yesterday on the battlefield. ' The body of Kd. Hoglo, tho member ol tho posse killed by the Indians, will bo taken to Eaglevlllc, Cal., for interment. Hoglo was twenty-sovou years of age, and was soon to havu been marrlod. Coroner Buckley will hold an Inquest, What disposition will bo mado of the sixteen-year-old squaw and tho three pappooses -taken prisoners has not ns yet been determined. The squaw admits that her party of Sho-sliones Sho-sliones slaughtered Cambron, Laxa-gue, Laxa-gue, Erramouspo and Indlano. Sho told also of other murders, including that of Frank Dott, whose fato has beon a mystery for tho last year. Three other whito men and a Chinaman were killed on the present expedition, she scld, making nine cowardly murders In all, and .with the mortality of tho bat. tlo Sunday, bringing tho list of dead up to eighteen. , Ono of tho tragic features developed today is tho manner in which Hoglo was killed. He was slain by means of a rlflo that was taken by the Indians from Cambron, whoso murdor ho was endeavoring to avenge. |
