Show RETIRED EMPLOYEES ' RECEIVE PENSION Since tho Inauguration of the Pension Pen-sion Department of the Southern Pacific Pa-cific company, January 1, 1903, noar-ly noar-ly ono million dollars has been voluntarily volun-tarily disbursed among the retired employes of that corporation. The precise pre-cise amount is 1850,607.00. The total disbursements for tho month of Juno ,1911, wore $14,010.35. This was divided among 420 men and women .retired employes of tho Southern Pacific company. Tho total disbursements for tho fiscal year ending Juno 30, 1911, woro $168,000.20. Since the organization of the Pension Pen-sion Department tho Southern Pacific Paci-fic company has pensioned 616 of 'its employes. Of this number 135 woro from tho operating and train, service, 268 from the Motive Power department, depart-ment, Including englnemen, 192' from the Maintenance of Way, 7 from the Stores department, 61 from tho gon-cral gon-cral offices, 22 from tho ' Atlantic Steamship lines and 21 from tho Fer- M ry and Itlver Steamers. Length ot service Is all that Is necessary to so- i cure a pension from the Southern a Pacific company. Tho employes aro no't required to contribute anything toward the ponslon fund, all payments ft being mado on the general funds of -J the railroad company. M |
