Though "bred In old Kentucky" Mr. Walters consldois Indiana "homo" and Is proud of Hoosleidom. He graduated fiom DePauvv University, Indiana, In 1800 and the followingycar came to Logan. He has resided here continuously slnoe that time, and in these thirteen years has established himself as a gentleman of marked legal abillty.coiirteous disposition, and the highest moral excellence. He has built up a lucrative business, an examination ex-amination of the lecords of the District Dis-trict court since statehood was granted grant-ed showing that he has been counsel In more cases than any other attorney in Cache county. Mr. Walters was twice elected City attorney of Logan, once when the remainder re-mainder of the ticket was democratic. Ills service lias been most exemplary and many tributes to his caiefulncss, honor and Integrity aie frequently heard. Mr. Walters voted for the first republican re-publican ticket put up in Logan and has otcd that ticket ever since Though he has little inclination to mix in politics his services as adviser have ever been sougnt and ho Is today one of the members of the republican executive committee. He Is unquestionably qualified to till the oillce for which ho has been nominated, nomi-nated, and Tiik Uki'ummcan feels free to say that the voters of this county will nover have the opportunity opportun-ity of votlug for a more generally acceptable ac-ceptable man. Ho Is clean, capable, honorable, thoroughly careful, conservative conser-vative within a reasonable degree and in every way worthy the highest con-lidence con-lidence and icspectof the people of this county. Mr. Walters's modesty Is exceeded only by his excellent record. Though ono of the best looking men on the ticket he rather disliked tho Idea of having his likeness appear In the paper, pa-per, hence its non-appeaiancc. |
