Show Franklin. The daughter of I. I!. Nash has been quite sick with typhoid, but we ate pleased to chioulcle that she is much better and there aie hopes of an eaily iecoeiy. There aie secial cases of typhoid in our little town and one caso of scar- H let fever. A son of Samuel W. Paik- liisou is having the latter in a very H bad form. There is other sickness in Franklin but not of a serious nature. I The political pot Is not boiling very llcrco heie at present. Wc liae had H a few meetings here lately. Local speakers of both parties have been pre-I pre-I senting their views to the public and I trying to piovo to the people that I their views of the issues of this gieat . campaign are right. Nov Mr. Editor, WJ both cannot be light, and wo know 01 that the Issues of the last great cam-W cam-W ' paign have been rlglit for us, for 4ros-I 4ros-I perlty lias been the result of the vlct-y vlct-y ory gained four years ago. We havo I not had any big guns tiring shots bud shells at one another here jet, but I I havo no doubt but that they will I como and the battle on Franklin grounds will be hot and heavy. In Idaho there are able generals and warrlois on both sides and they will do all they can to defeat one another. So the political battle will wage all ocr the United States of America until the gieat linal battle will be fought on election daj, in every town and city. Whicheer side gains the vlcloiy may they ticat the vanquished vanquish-ed as biotheis in the good cause and may the vanquished feel that tho they hac lost the battle, that they did all they could and rought manfully man-fully to gain the victory. May both parties after the final battle Join and work foi the good of our nation, and for the piolectlon of cvciv American cltlen. May peace and plenty follow the administration of our gieat country as long as lire lasts Is the humble piayer of eery good American Ameri-can cltlen. We aie still doing the best we can to obtain the necessaries of life In an honest way. Our farmers aie busy putting their Tall crops In dining the tine weather we aie having, and also some arc gatheilng their beets and shipping them to the ractoiy. Elder Alfied Challls, our Janitor ror j cms, was called on a mission and started Horn heie last Monday ror England. Our diamatlc boys plajed the drama "Hound by an Oath" on Satutday night for his benelit and netted over WO. Brother Challls Is a faithful man and a good Latter-day Saint. Elder Leonatd Paikinson left Sunday Sun-day for a mission to the North Western West-ern States. May God bless them both and help them to till honorable missions. |
