Show Wo do not know how ot hers may view-it, view-it, but it looks to us like England and Germany were proceeding in a very peculiar mannar to collect their claims against Venrzula. It was given out that they were to occupy the custom house at one or two Important ports and hold the receipts until their claims arc paid. Instead of doing this they commence with an act of war, by sclz-Ingafcw sclz-Ingafcw vessels belonging to tho Venezuelan Vene-zuelan fleet and destroying them. That sort of preceding could haully fall to rouse tho Venezuelan people if they had a spark of patriotism left, and they could hardly be expected to do nny thing else but retaliate In kind. The Allies may find they have a bull by tho horns defore they get through with It. |
