Show Kick from the 7th, Hdiiok Hki'ithi.k an: Last New Yen's afternoon a dance was given the Sunday school children In the Seventh Waid In this clt). A select pait) was given in the evening to the Sunday school oillccrs and a few of their Immediate fi lends. It appears ap-pears that some of the joung bojs in that Ward took exception to this and vveie bent on mischief. Amongst othei things that were done, they took a haltci f lorn a team that was tied, and vveie caught In the act of tying the doors from the outside, thereby attempting to fasten all the people on the inside. The boys were captured and given their choice of asking foi-glvenessof foi-glvenessof the audience present, or being placed under aircst. In the meantime, an oillcer was sent for.Ono boy made a public apology and was leleased; the other two were refractory re-fractory and were therefore arrested and lined on the following morning. Aftei the lines were paid one of the boys had the audacity to ask the Justice Jus-tice how much the cost would be to whip one of the Sunday school olllclals who was instrumental in causing tho anest. The actions of joung men In this Ward have become almost unbearable un-bearable of late. At two recent gatherings there was one good hat that had the ciovvu cut right out and another ciushed so that it was spoiled. Young men will stand In front of residences at Inldnlght and sing their vulgar songs. When men of families have gone out andiemonstiat-cd andiemonstiat-cd with them, they have been ridiculed ridicul-ed and scoffed at. l'oi joung boys and glils to be aroused at night and be compelled to listen to the utterances utteran-ces of these hoodlums Is an outrage. If rcstiaint Is not put upon this class of Individuals In the near future, some clllcn will take the law In his own hands and possibly Inlllct a punishment that will be long remembered, and 1 believe the clticns of this city will siy "Amen" to It. If a few low -bred Illiterate rutliians think they can do as they please by over-stopping all bounds of morality and decency, they will find out their mistake. This Is not given as a threat but there arc some individuals who will not endme much more of this from the diunken rabble. There Is not a religious community com-munity on the earth that is as liberal with the young as our people are; school and meeting houses are thrown open for the young to enjoy themselves and every consldeiatlon Is given for their pleasure, and In icturn the leaning lean-ing men of the wards are scoffed at, and If opportunities aro offeicd Ihey appear to bo the special objects of spleen. To the parent-, of these boys, 1 say, If you have an Inllucncc for good over them, use It: If not somebody else will see whether or not they can be biought down from thlshlgh pedestal pedes-tal of crime th.it they now occupy. Tho w i Iter Is a friend to the y oung and loves to see them enjoy themselves when amusements aic confined within the limits of good. oidei and decency, but when this limit is overieachod to to such an extent as has been the case In this ward, it Is time to call a halt.
