Show LOGAN GETS A FACTORY Mayor Haqsen has Completed All Plans for Installation of Condensed Milk Factory The latest good "news for this city Is that a condensed milk factory is to be elected in Logan, and at a veiy early date. This Is no fake, nor Is it a wild ex-aggciallon ex-aggciallon of someone's Imagination. Mayor Hansen who has Just icturned fiom the East where he went to investigate in-vestigate matters in legard to the condensed con-densed milk business and factoiles, states that he will Immediately build a factory at this place, plans and sped-llcatlon sped-llcatlon being already under way. While in the East, Mi. Hansen visited factories at Elgin, Illinois, Chicago and Dctiolt, and also mado an inspection inspec-tion of faUoiies whcic machinery for the condensed milk business is made. Ills Investigations were so satisfactory that ho piomptly decided on the couisc mentioned and will now cairy it out as quickly as possible. It is Mr. Hansen's intention to run the condensed milk factory In connection con-nection with his creamery business, which Is deemed a great advantage. In his investigations in the East the Ma) or found condensed milk factoiles and creameries operated together very satisfactorily and he believes that conditions in Cache valley will be even more favorable to the success of such an cnterpile. The new factory will be constructed in Logan somewhere along the Oregon Short Lino and of sulllcient capacity to consume the milk pioduccd in this end of the valley, val-ley, a bout (10,000 lbs. dally. It Is Mr. Hansen's design to form a corporation and olTcr a limited amount of stock to the public. This cannot but be good news to Loganltcs and Cache county cltiens generally. The Hansen cicamery Interests aie alieady large, and the addition of a condensed milk factory means a large increase in the monthly pay i oil. The city will naturally enough come in for the gi catcst sharcof the bcnctlt.btit the county will also get its share. Tho factory hcie will in nowise no-wise come Into conflict with the Richmond Rich-mond factory, there being more than cnougll milk produced In the north end of tho valley to supply the plant at tho latter place. Instead of hostility hostil-ity the two concerns w III work in perfect per-fect harmony and both will do much to advertise the 'valley. The establishment of these two factoiles In the valley speaks well for the enterprise of the men who are promoting them. Messrs. C. .. Harris, and other Richmond men showed they were alive to their opportunities by landing a factoiy at that place, and the people peo-ple theie owe them a gieat deal. Mavor Hansen's disposition to do things Is highly commendable and his success In every Instance Is well merited. We need more men of the kind in the vallc) and city. |
