Show RIVER HEIGHTS HAS JUBILEE School Houio Completed and Ward Folk Ctlcbratt th Event. Now Occupy Now Building Tho River Height ward folk are now tho proud possessors of a new 16600 school building which has just boon completed, and so pleased they wero that on Friday afternoon they . celebrated tho completion of the fMfc building in flno fashion. The people j of tho ward met at 1 o'clock and from then on until late In the evening not a moment was lost. They enjoyed themselves to the limit. Tho members mem-bers of the county board of education and superintendent of schools wero In attendance. They gave speoches, as did leading members of the ward. Threo tables were necessary for all to be fed and it was late In tho afternoon af-ternoon before the banquet closed. At tho first table were the guests and tho grownups of the ward, at tho second came the younger set, then the waiters and waitresses, nono being be-ing slighted with a flno meal. Tho event closed with a dance In tho evening. eve-ning. The now building which opened for school yesterday, Is a four roomed room-ed structure, so constructed that four moro rooms may bo added at any time. Dut two rooms have been completed. com-pleted. One school will bo conducted In tho building tho remainder of tho season, this being tho primary grades which Is taken from tho basement of the ward meeting house, a room which is used for an amusement hall. There aro about 76 children of district dis-trict school ago at Rlvor Heights. About CO attend the primary school at home, the remainder go to Providence. |
