Show OFFER UTAH MARBLE FOR STATE CAPITOL Historical Society Requests That it Be Given Official Recognition Suit Lake City, Mulch 11. At yesterday's yes-terday's meeting of tho capitol commission com-mission Dr. Fred .1. Pack and A. E. .ludd, representing the Utah Marule & Construction company, appeared before the commission nnd submitted an offer to furnish pure whlto marble mar-ble for tho exterior ot tho capitol building Tho commission declined to announce what tho material would cost. Tho company owns deposits of marble mar-ble In Hcaer county, nnd It Is claimed claim-ed for tho product, that it Is as good as can bo obtained any whero In tho country. Many beautiful samples of tho marblo wero submitted. The commission com-mission decided to send two experts to Heaver county at onco to Inspect tho quarries as to extent and quality and members of tho commission will make a similar tour March 21. Ono of the experts Is S. H. Belmont of Provo, and tho other will be selected by James Stewart & Co., tho capitol building contractors. Hollow Clay Tiling Tho question of suUstltutlng hollow hol-low clay tiling In the floors nnd partitions par-titions of tho building for tho tiling recommended by tho architect was taken under advisement for ten days, pending which a thorough examination examina-tion of both kinds of tiling will bo mado. Tho hollow clay tiling is being be-ing used in the Nowhouso hotel build-Ing. build-Ing. Tho architect nnd contractor wero asked to furnish figures on hollow hol-low plabter blocks for tho floors nnd partitions. Tho proposed hot water heating plant for the capitol was considered ut Bomo length, but definite action wns deforred During tho ufternoon members of tho commission Inspected tho hot wntor heating plant In tho car barns of tho Utah Light & Itall-way Itall-way company. Historical Society Mnthonlhah Thomas, Levi Edgar Young, Dyron Cummlngs and Spen-cor Spen-cor Clawson, representing tho Stato Historical society, asked tho commission commis-sion to oinclally recognlzo tho society by passing n resolution concerning It, which would bo embraced in tho minutes. mi-nutes.
