Gordon, Gor-don, H prominent physician ot this city was shot and killed here tonight by Harveyj R. Fields, an Insurance solicitor. About ten days ago Gordon Gor-don operated on Field's mother. Her subsequent deaVfi, tho insurance man declared wa caused by the physician's physi-cian's carelessness. It was to avenge her death that he took the life of the doctor he said. Field's met the physician at the entrance of St. Mary's hospital and after a few words drew a revolver and fired two shots, killing him n-stantly. n-stantly. Immediately after the shooting shoot-ing he surrendered Titmself to the po lice. In his cell hero tonight Fields made the statement that Dr. Gordon who was the family physician had attacked attack-ed the younger Mrs. Fields In h's office. |
