A hailstorm covering a territory fully a half mile wide and several miles In length visited vis-ited this section last evening and ns a result heavy loss was sustained by farmers who bad wheat and outs In tho path of tho storm. Tho oat crop Is thought to havo been fully halt destroyed through tho oats bolng stripped from tho straw and much wheat was knocked down and that which was rlp'o, suffered much by being shelled out upon tho ground. Tho beets whllo suffering somo us a result of being stripped of leaves, Is thought to havo been amaged less than tho grain, nirds wcro killed and leaves wero torn from tho poplar trees In such a way that It looked as If autumn woro hero. Tho storm-started storm-started In hbout r o'clock nnd lasted about a half hour. Halls two Inches in diameter fell. Tho storm started In tho northern part of town and Its courso was north cast and extended Into tho Falrvlew farming district.
