Show Resume ot Two Weeks Program With the adjournment ot this afternoon's af-ternoon's meetings tho animal Farmers' Farm-ers' Roundup nnd Housekeepers' Conference, Con-ference, which havo been held during tho past two weeks at tho Agricultural Agricultur-al College, will bo brought to a close. With tho closing of thcso Industrial conventions an epoch will bo mado in the history of tho Institution .which has so successfully conducted them. Farmers and housowlvcs from various vari-ous parts of this stato and surrounding surround-ing ones will go back to their homes filled with now ambition for tho development de-velopment ot better conditions on the farm and In tho homo. They will also carry back to their homo a message mes-sage of good will toward the Agricultural Agricul-tural Collcgo ot Utah and will ox-press ox-press an appreciation ot tho great work that Institution has douo fur them during tho past two weeks. A brief rovlew of what has gono ou In tho meetings of these conferences will readily show that a great deal of good can be expected to como as a result of them. During tho twelve days on which meetings were held there wore twon-ty twon-ty four sessions, each hold by tho men's nnd womens' sections nnd ten Joint sessions, were conducted. They also took part In demonstrations In the use of various labor saving devices in the home. The speakers of tho Farmers' Roundup began by dealing with problems prob-lems in Irrigation and dralnago and donlt with tho duty of water, water measurements, irrigation of orchnnl and general field crops, drnliiago of swampy and alkali lands, etc. The growing of potntos wns given a great deal of attention and this was followed fol-lowed by lectures covering tho production pro-duction of grasses, forage crops and sugar beets. Dry-Karming occupied n prominent place on the program nnd lectures pertaining to this phase of Intermountain agriculture dealt with tho soils, methods of cultivation anil crops best ndaptcd to successful dry farming. General discussions of tll Inge Implements, harvesting and threshing machinery and other phases phas-es of farm mechanics occupied a good portion of the time. The last two days of tho first week were devoted to horticultural problems and the grow Ing of vnrlous kinds of fruit on tho different soils of Utah. During this time lectures on the general management manage-ment and enro of the fruit orchards were given. Tho second week dealt entirely with live stock problems nnd beginning begin-ning with beef types nnd breeds, on Mondny, each day thereafter was given over to lectures and discussions nloug nil lines of live stock production. produc-tion. Tho types, breeds, origin, characteristics char-acteristics and valuo of all domestic animals Including cattle, horses, sheep, hogs and poultry were dealt with. Problems relative to the dairy Industry occupied two days of tho weok's work.
