Gall, of Bri&ham Gity. t i z Box Elder's Favorite Lawyer Candidate B. C. Call, a Popular County Attorney and One Who Never Loses a Case. Read His Record Attorney B. U. Call ot Brigham Is one of the representative young men of Utah. He comes of some of the best pioneer stock, for hU parents, Omer Call and Eleanor Jones Call were among the first settlers ot Box Elder county. HU early life is typical ot the ambitious young men of Utah. After studying at the schools ot Wlllard, Wlll-ard, his native town, he attended first the Weber Stake Academv and then the B. Y. U. at Provo. Ho then taught school for two years after which he answered a call to go on a mission and while in the missionary field was first counselor to the president and secretary of the Southwestern States mission, and was also assistant editor ot tb.e mission paper. Having thus served the state by his teachings and the church by his missionary mis-sionary work Mr. Call was ready to devote de-vote himself to the profession ot law In which he had always 'been ambitious ambi-tious to succeed. He was graduated from the law department ot the Uni versity ot Michigan and Immediately after began the practice of law at Brigham. Though he had to tape the competition ot eight other members of. the local bar and did not go Into partnership with anyone of them, yet he began Immediately to build up a good practice and thanks to his talents and pleasing personality he has built up an extensive and important law business. So good a man could not fail to be called Into the publio service and In 1900 Mr. Call received the nomination to the office of county attorney on the republican ticket, ills opponent on the democratic, ticket was Rlcy H. Jones, one of the oldest members of the bar In the county and a man of broad acqualntence throughout the state. A close election was expected but Mr. Call's popularity was such that he defeated his opponent by 1,091 votes, thus securing the highest nlur-alty nlur-alty of any man on the republican ticket. The newly elected county attorney showed his constituents as soon as ho entered office tjiab ho was the right man In the right place and In the two years he has held the. position ot publlo pub-llo prosecutor he has lost but one case. This Is a., record that few county attorneys at-torneys ever attain and one of which anyone may be proud. It Is sufficient reason for supporting him this year as a candidate for district attorney. A man who can work so well for the county Is In line for promotion and should be given a broader field In which to exercise his talents. What he has already done for Box Elder county he is capable of doing for .the judicial district and Rich and Cache should rejoice that they have an opportunity op-portunity to join with Box Elder in electing a lawyer for district attorney who is advancing so fast with his profession pro-fession He Is a character trained in the schools of the state and the mission mis-sion field He has the solid, rugged qualities that all admire ln a public seivant. .He has besides this the distinction dis-tinction of being a successful and popular pop-ular lawyer In spite of his comparative youth and the keen competition he has met. He Is a man to win and a man to depend on. |
