Show Mrs. Alma Hillyard Buried Surprise Party For Henry Hansen SMITH FIELD, October 1U.-Funeral 1U.-Funeral services were held In the tabernacle on Saturday last over the remains of Mrs, Alma Hillyard. The house was well filled with relatives and friends who met to pay respects to her memory and the family. Mrs. II 111) ard was a person most loved by those who knew he best and had a wide circle of friends. She came to Smlthllcld In the early UO's and endured en-dured much of pioneer life. Her tlrst husband was killed by the Indians. In the year 1875 she was married to Alma Hillyard, to whom she has borne nine children who with her husband are left to mourn her loss. William Noble, Samuel Roskelloy, George Barber, Bar-ber, Samuel Nelson, George Done, Bishop Wm. L. Winn and Bishop E, H. Miles Jr., all spoke of her as being such a devoted wife, loving mother and faithful Latter-day Saint. The democrats held their primary on Monday night and nominated R. V. Larson as precinct justice and J. II. Smith as constable The republicans nominated Samuel Nelson as justice and David Weeks as constable. On Saturday last an unique surprise party was planned for Henry Hanson at the residence of Mrs. Maggie Ros-kelley. Ros-kelley. Refreshments were served and a collection made and 'presented to him. On Sunday night a public concert was given in the tabernacle and another purse made up In all a-mounting a-mounting to over $90. Brother Hansen Han-sen lett on Wednesday morning for the Scandinavian mission, feeling that he had left many warm friends In Smlthllcld. Our boys have allowed another of our most beautiful girls to be carried away.. Mr. Evan Chrlstlanson of nyde Park will lead Miss Fransena Cooler to the altar in Salt Lake on OctoberSOth. F. C Cragunofour town took flrst prize on honey and also on honey comb at the State Fair. 0. J. Plowman's line horses also came In for a share of the cash and a bow of blue ribbon. |
