Young, of the editorial editor-ial staff of Truth, addressed the students stud-ents In chapel on Wednesday morning, speaking to them of his experience as a newspaper man In Chicago. Mr. 'Charles W. Porter, a member of the class of '05 and Instructor In chemistry, chem-istry, has received an Austin scholarship scholar-ship or $J."j0 at Harvard University and will spend another year In graduate gradu-ate study In that Institution. The violin pupils of Mr. Splckcr will give a recital In the college chapel next Wednesday afternoon. They will bu assisted by advanced vocal students, stu-dents, and the public Is cordially Invited In-vited to be present. There will be but few changes in the personnel of the faculty next year. Prof Thomas will have charge of the School of Commerce, and the work In history, which he gives up for his new duties, will bo taken by Dr. Isaac Evans, Harvard '08. Prof. W. K. Uurnham, professor of dairying in the University of West Vrlglna, will come to Logan to till a similar position. posi-tion. Several artistic posters, painted by Klcey Jones, a last year's student, are announcing through the town the coming of the event. Miss Grace Fisher '04 has received an appointment to teach domestic science In the Polytechnic High School In Pasadena, Cal. Miss Fisher was last year instructor In the Agricultural Agri-cultural College and Is now stud) lug at Columbia University. i Mr. John Stephens, Instructor In agionomy, was made this week the happy father of a healthy daughter. |
