Twenty-Ovedirectors.elther In person or by proxy, were In this city Thursday afternoon and organized as follows: President, ANTHON ANDERSON. Vlce.Prcs.JOnNC. GREAVES. Treasurer, M. J. BALLARD. Secretary, F. A. MITCHELL. The company is capitalized at $50,-000, $50,-000, divided Into 5,000 shares at a par value or $10 each. Tho purpose of the company Is to erect In Logan city a magnificent general hospital of such size and, scopo as to be able to care for the allllcted of this entire north country coun-try and contiguous territory. This Is the hosplta 1 proposition on which J. M. Blair has been working the past year cr eighteen months. The need and possibility of such a hospital being so apparent, Mr. Blair has succeeded In interesting representative represen-tative men from all sections. His first elfort was to secure for directors twenty-five men who would put up $250 or more, and these, whose holding hold-ing of stock range from $250 to $1,500, are as follows: C. W. Nlbley, Salt Lake City. Moses Thatcher, Logan. Joseph Howell, Logan. Anthon Anderson, Logan. Thomas Smart, Logan. , Lorenzo Hansen, Logan. Thomas Irvine, Logan. A. G. Lundstrom, Logan. John II. Anderson, Logan. E. R. Miles Jr., Smithfield. A. M. Mathews, Providence. Henry E. Hancey, Hyde Park. W. W. Roundy, Benson. Olaf Cronquist, Greenville. Christian Sorcnscn, Mcndon. A. L. Hyer, Lewlston. B. Y. Benson, Trenton. J. W, Hendricks, Richmond. Alma L. Jensen, Clarkston. Heber Parker, Wellsvllle. James J. Facer, Hyrum. W. S. Hansen, Fielding. John C. Greaves, Preston. J. B. Scarborough, Franklin. Joseph T. Pond, Thatcher. The personnel of tho board o. directors di-rectors Is guarantee of the breadth of the Institution and Its ultimate success. suc-cess. Many other representative men have interested themselves In an amount less than $250, and it Is the pl.an to enlist every family In the valley, val-ley, I T-possible, to the extent or one share $10. This big hospital will be a great Institution In-stitution for northern Utah. People from the valley and points north will not need to go to Salt Lake for medical medi-cal or surgical attention, for It is the intention to secure specialists In all diseases. Tho expense attendant on city hospitals will not bo the portion here for people can undoubtedly live here cheaper than in the capital. That it will prove a financial success Is certain. One or the local hospitals here during 1007 did a $10,000 business with no investment at all. This seems very good in comparison with the L. D. S. at Salt Lake which did a 300,000 business last year. One of the features of the Utah-Idaho Utah-Idaho hospital Is that all cases so recommended by bishops and ministers minis-ters will receive charity treatment. The location for the new hospital Is not determined on yet, but there is some talk of locating It In the vicinity of the B. Y. C. It Is the intention to get to work as soon as possible. |
