Show PEACE EXERCISES AT B. Y. COLLEGE. The chapel exercises at the B. Y. C. last Thursday morning were of unusual un-usual Interest and will long be remembered remem-bered by those present, by the seniors, because It was their last chapel and by alt because of the excellent talk given by Mr. Nebeker. Prof. Bowcn presided and the hour opened with an anthem by the choir and a fervent prayer by Prof. Bullen. Then after another choir anthem Mr. Horace Nebeker gave an Inspiring and scholarly scholar-ly talk on the history and significance of the peace deliberations at the Hague. All listened attentively as the peace principle that should pervade per-vade the world took on new meaning In the enthusiastic words of the young and vigorous speaker. Mr. Nebeker concluded with the apt remark that if the peace prnlclpic should reign In tho heart of every B. Y. C. student, of every Loganlle, of every Utahn, and of every citizen of the United Mates, there would be no need of the war department's de-partment's squandering millions dally on forts and battleships. Prof. Robinson and the choir then sang "Scatter Smiles and Sunshine" and the last chapel of the college year was over. The college may well look with pride on the work of the past year. It has taken an honorable place In college athletics, It has acquired new funds and seen a beautiful new building take form, it has seen Its collegiate col-legiate Independence established Ilrm-ly, Ilrm-ly, and above all It has gained in that Intangible virtue called college spirit and has made great strides towards becoming a college in deed as wqll as name. |
