Grandma Betrdneau, 70 years of age, Is quite low. She has suffered with rheumatism for three months. All her children are at her Dcdslde and all Is being done that loving hands can do. She Is at the home of her daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs. E. G. Smith. Carl Nyman who has been sick for a week Is able to be at work again, Lewis Wllhelm came near losing his barn and haystacks on Wednesday. A straw stack was found to be ablaze, but for the timely help of the neighbors neigh-bors the Are was soon put out and not much damage resulted. The cause of the fire Is not known. On Wednesday afternoon Mrs. Jane 'McNcal was pleasantly surprised by forty-five members or the Belief society. socie-ty. The afternoon was spent in social chat. Tables were spread on the lawn and everyone present seemed to enjoy themselves. A beautiful rug and crystal set was presented to Mrs. McNeal. Mr. and Mrs. MoKeal think they have lived on the old farm long enough so are preparing to move Into Logan and enjoy city life. Miss Myrtle Nelson and Miss Eliza King gave a sociable to a number or their friends on Tuesday evening at the Nelson home. The evening was spent in games and contests. An elegant ele-gant supper was served. Mrs. Jeddlah Merrill or Montpelier has returned home having spent six weeks with her mother, Mrs. Archie McNeal. Mr. and Mrs. Carl M. Nelson and Mr. and Mrs. Willard .Nyman spent a few days at Poverty Flat. Mrs. Annie Uorbett and children cf Turner, Idaho, spent Sunday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oarl Nyman. Mlw Jean Orookston Is spending two weeks at Helena, Montana, with relatives. rela-tives. MlssZlna Larsen is home after a pleasant trip to Salt Lake. Elder James A.Cragun of Smlthueld who recently returned from England was a visitor In our ward Monday night. He Is In good health and spirits and happy to be home again. Miss Martha Davidson who has been spending the summer at American Falls is enjoying home life again. Mrs. Chrlstena Williams and daughter daugh-ter Fannie ot Murray have been spending spend-ing a week-wlth Mrs. Ollf Cronqalst. Willie Davidson has gone to Stone, Idaho, for the winder. Mrs Anns Jorgensen of Ogden has been spending a week with Mrs. C. N. Nelson. Mr. L. A. McCombs was a visitor at Brlgham City on Tuesday. The recent rains havo cleared and cooled the atmosphere. The grain Is yielding well, as much as fifty bushels per acre have been realized re-alized on dry farms. |
