George I.oudnor, attracted by the noise, came Into the house and shot the dog. Then the child was missed and search w'as Instigated. They found tho youngster In high glee nt tho antics of n big rattlesnake which was playing with tho rubber ball. The boy would roach out the whip with tho ball attached and hit the snake on tho head. Tho reptile would resent tho attack, plainly trying to sink Its fangs Into tho rubber globo, all the whllo rattling and colling nnd uncoiling ns the ball circled about it. Mr. Louder killed tho snake. Tho dog was not mad, but had tried In vain to sot somo one to aid tho child, nnd met its death by being too faithful. |
