Show British Scientific Farming. A new era In British farming seems to bo developing from, the experiments at the Cambridge university farm at Implngton. During the last eight years all known varieties of wheat havo been collected, and, while moBt of them could not l)e,.aecllmated, a few have been selected for resistance to rust, good cropping capacity, free milling mill-ing quality, stiff straw, ,etcvand, havo been crossed with Dritlsb wheat 'so successfully as to promise an Immediate Immedi-ate increase in value'of 10 per cent or more. Like improvement ot barley and other plants is anticipated. |
