Recently, surveyors have been at work locating lines on Center Street, north of Main, and as a result there has been a general gener-al straightening of fences. The City council has authorized the improvement improve-ment of that street to tho depot, and a number of teams are at work at present making a llrst-class road. John Iverson, formerly of this place, died at tils homo in Pocatcllo, Idaho, yesterday. Stomach trouble, from which ho had been ailing the past few months, was the cause of his death. The remains will bo shipped hero today for burial. For many years Bro. Iverson was a well respected resident of this place and acquaintances will regret his demise. ' It is reported that Major Soren Hansen will soon return from his trip to Europe. The mayor has visited England, France, Germany, Denmark and Sweden, as well as other European Euro-pean countries. Yesterday tlio 2uJ ward Primary celebrated the anniversary of that organization. or-ganization. An enjoyable tlmo was Had in program and picnic, ending with a dance for tho little folks. College.gavo a very interesting lecture on "education" at the Stako House last Sunday evening, The meeting was well attended. Another baby girl has arrived at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Rose. A baby has also arrived at tho homo of Edwin MoBrlde. Our reputation for good roads and crossings In the city Is certainly being maintained bv the present supervisor of streets, Wm. Darley. Pres. Wm. U. Parkinson has been appointed a delegato to represent us at tho National Irrigation congress to be held In Boise. Wm. Mack, the "German Optical Specialist," ha,s been located at tho Pioneer Houso the past few days. Miss Maud Williams Is visiting friends at Pocatello. |
