The Richmond Industrial club held Us regular meeting last Monday and monthly social Tuesday evening. At the former, mattors of considerable Importance were discussed and referred re-ferred to the proper committee for attention. at-tention. At the social a Jollier crowd never got together. Jn the program, (J. .. Harris made a very effective speech on the objects and benefits of th'c Industrial club of Richmond. Mrs. A. A, Thomas and Mr llallam rendcied solos, Frank llurnjiam recited and Miss Anna Swcndsen gave a piano solo. These, with selections by tho orchestra, made up an entertaining program. The social so-cial to be given next month Is being looked forwaid to with keen Interest. In taking Miss Anderson home In hlsbuggy, Dr. Adamson, after driving four blocks over tho frozen ground and thereby causl eg tho unfortunate un-fortunate oung lady intense pain, was compelled by her screaming to break a city ordinance and drive for ono block on tho sidewalk. It was while doing this humane act that Marshal Bale caught the doctor and Immediately arrested him for driving on the sidewalk. He was taken before Justice II. II. Hill, whero the case was carcrully explained, after which tho Justice wisely decided that Dr. Adamson was entirely Justified In his act and was therefore promptly discharged. dis-charged. Mr, Hill's decision meets with tho hearty approval of ovcrjono. Bishop Waddoups, of Lewlston, was hero last week and held u "beet meeting" meet-ing" to encourage the raising of beets and securing contracts for acreage.
