Naylor, Studebaker agents here, were parties to a transaction which they had not figured on. However, the matter was adjusted satisfactorily rcgaidlng their $.() kick. It happened this way. The two parties mentioned were engaged in a horse trade and deal, and Mr. Naylor put his horse in Mr. Merrill's barn. It had not been tlicie long before a hoise bioko loose and did not take kindly to the Intruding of the Naylor horse and he began to show his displeasure by kicking hard. The result of it was the Naylor hoise received a broken leg, which ofcouise meant death. The bishop was called in to adjust matters and this olllcial decided that Leon and Mr. Naylor each stand 2."i which they did by Merrill selling tho agent his $" horse for fno and the hide of the dead horse. Boys Get Drunk. It Is a pitiful sight to sec the way many of our young boys boys not yet i!l years reel qnder the influence of lUiuor and carry on in manners and talk very unbecoming on our streets, or elsewhere for that maUer. It seems that at almost every dance there arc some who think the even-J even-J Ing's pleasure is not complete without filling up on beer or whiskey, and many times both, which Is always secured se-cured for them by persons old enough by law to go into the saloon land buy It. Last Saturday's dance was no exception to this slate of affairs, af-fairs, as more than one In our town can testify to. We think it Is high time thai a stop should be put to this evil by the proper authorities showing the boys in a kindly way the great danger they are in by pursuing this course, and bringing to Justice those whoso willingly violate our laws by buying and giving them the "fjre-water "fjre-water " Surprise Party.
