Show Strike In France Averted by Government. It has transpired, says a special dispatch dis-patch from Paris, that the French government gov-ernment warned each member of the miners' committee (which adjourned Wednesday at St. Etienne without making public the result of its deliberations) deliber-ations) that in ordering a strike under present conditions he would render himself liable to a sentence for Inciting eivil war, and that the government would prosecute if necessary. This action, ac-tion, it is believed, caused the committee commit-tee to temporize. |
